12TH District Area Committee List 2004

All committees meet at Central Office unless otherwise noted.

PUBLIC INFORMATION/COOPERATION WITH THE PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY (PI/CPC) COMMITTEE
This committee covers a vast area of concerns in our community including schools, professionals, physicians, lawyers, judges, courts, police departments, clergy, press and other media. We are currently working on establishing a speaker bureau. If you enjoy talking about AA and what the program has to offer, to someone who may still be suffering, please come join us!!
Meeting time First Saturday of each month 7:00 pm

TREATMENT FACILITIES COMMITTEE.
This Committee takes meetings into rehab and other facilities established to help people to recover from Alcoholism. The committee designates members of the community to commit to chairing a meeting in one of these facilities. If you would like to give away a little of what you have gotten from AA, please come join us!

ARCHIVES COMMITTEE
This committee gathers, displays and stores historical information, which relates to AA and our recovering community. If you are one of those people that do not like the exposure but would like to give back a little to the community, please come join us!

GRAPEVINE COMMITTEE
This committee participates in letting the community know about the wonderful recovering magazine offered by AA. We also help groups to build their own Grapevine displays and offer our Grapevine displays for community and group functions. If you like to help get the word out, come join us!

SOBER DAZE COMMITTEE
This committee prints a bimonthly publication of articles and events in the 12th District AA community.  AA members may submit articles or events for publication to the editor or the Central Office.

SPECIAL NEEDS COMMITTEE
This committee is here to assist  AA's with special needs.  This is described as persons who are blind or visually impaired; deaf or hard of hearing; chronically ill or homebound, and those who are developmentally disabled.

CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES COMMITTEE
The purpose of this committee is to cooperate with all correctional institutions in the Augusta Area, explaining AA’s role in assisting the inmates who seek help.  The committee helps coordinate AA meetings and other activities in the facilities within the scope and traditions of the fellowship.
